"JPod", de Douglas Coupland (Bloomsbury Publishing Plc)

Tenho andado um tanto arredada das lides 'couplandísticas'. Assim, durante mais uma das minhas incursões por um tal antro de consumismo cultural já aqui referido, qual não foi o meu espanto ao deparar-me com este "JPod", o mais recente romance de Douglas Coupland... Bom, não foi tanto espanto assim, uma vez que o senhor publica dois ou três livros no mesmo espaço de tempo que demora, ao comum dos mortais, dizer 'glomeruloesclerose segmentária focal'.

Reza assim a história:

"Ethan and his five co-workers are marooned in JPod, a no-escape architectural limbo on the fringes of a massive game-design company. There they wage battle against the demands of boneheaded marketing staff who torture them with idiotic changes to already idiotic games. Meanwhile, Ethan's personal life is being invaded by marijuana grow-ops, people-smuggling, ballroom dancing, global piracy and the rise of China.
